Robert Kinney
Robert began working at the Charles Simeon Trust in 2005 after several years of involvement at Holy Trinity Church. A native of central Illinois, Robert earned a bachelor’s degree with a dual concentration in Fundamentals: Issues and Texts (issues of guilt and redemption) and Early Christian Literature at the University of Chicago. His BA thesis was on idolatry in Paul's epistle to the church in Rome. He also served formally as an intern at Holy Trinity Church for six of the last eight years.

Robert is also presently working on a dissertation on the Greco-Roman background to the Gospel of Matthew at the University of Bristol. He is married to Angela, a Ph.D candidate in Classics and Medieval Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Robert is primarily responsible for the operations of the Charles Simeon Trust. His job consists mainly of three things: 1) strategic thinking and planning for executing the vision of the Trust, 2) the design and implementation of the Trust's communications and promotional strategies (in print and online), and 3) the administration of the various initiatives of the Trust. He reports to the Executive Director and directly supervises the other staff members.
