Workshop for Women in Ministry
HOLY TRINITY CHURCH IN CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
MARCH 3-5, 2011
The Charles Simeon Trust aims to help recover the centrality of expository teaching of the Word of God, for the health and benefit of the church in our own and future generations. We also take seriously the instruction of Titus 2, which directs women to “teach what is good, and so train the young women….” Women are called to teach and live as models to other women so “that the word of God may not be reviled.” Training women to teach the Bible to other women is vital for building up the church and equipping its members to live out the truths of the gospel. The workshop is designed for women who serve in regular teaching ministries, full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid, including small group Bible study leaders and one-to-one Bible study mentors.

Kathleen Nielson holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Literature from Vanderbilt University and a B.A. from Wheaton College. She has taught in the English departments at Vanderbilt University, Bethel College, and Wheaton College. She is the author of numerous Bible studies, as well as various articles and poems, including Proverbs, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, and several others in the Living Word Bible Studies series. Kathleen has directed and taught women’s Bible studies at several churches and speaks extensively at conferences and retreats. Kathleen is married to Dr. Niel Nielson, President of Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. Kathleen and Niel have three sons and two beautiful daughters-in-law.
