| Small-Group Workshop Preparation One of the most important aspects of a workshop are the small-group sessions. Each participant will have texts assigned in advance. The texts will be chosen to help illustrate the instruction principles or to fit with the particular theme of a workshop. This is the time when participants are encouraged to give feedback on each other's work and when each participant will receive feedback on his. Every participant will be given further instruction on how to prepare. Preparations will generally include identifying: Theme–In one sentence state the message of the text as a timeless universal truth. Aim–State specifically what you want your hearers to do, think, or believe in light of the theme. Immediate Context–State how your text fits within the flow of thought within the surrounding context. Message of the Book–State the main theme of the book and explain how your passage contributes to it. Outline–Provide the outline you would use in preaching.
